FAQ
Learn more on all things Capital Food Fight. From parking to coat check, we’ve got you covered!
When does the event start and end?
Doors open at 6pm and our stage show begins at 6:30pm. Our expected event end-time is 9:00pm.
Where can I park?
Paid parking at The Wharf is limited and very competitive. We cannot validate parking for event guests. We highly recommend using Metro transit, our partners at Circuit, or rideshare services. Click here for more information on getting to The Anthem.
What if I have dietary restrictions? Can I see an advance menu?
Food at Capital Food Fight is donated by our partner restaurants. This means that menus can change last minute and are subject to each restaurant’s discretion. While we and our restaurant friends strive offer a wide variety of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free tastes, and we make every effort to indicate those labels on signage at the event, we strongly encourage our guests to confirm with tasting restaurants about any allergens, restrictions, or other preferences before sampling.
Can I make a donation at the event?
Of course! Donations can be made via text or online links throughout the evening and our silent auction offers a hugely fun way of supporting DCCK’s mission.
Can I buy a ticket at the door?
Capital Food Fight typically sells out days before the event. The availability of walk-up tickets will be determined the day of the event. We are expecting record turnout for this special anniversary event and strongly recommend purchasing your tickets as far in as advance as possible.
Can I check my coat or bag?
Yes, coat check is available at registration. As always, we recommend traveling light and avoiding bringing valuables so you can avoid lines and focus on enjoying our event. DC Central Kitchen nor The Anthem are responsible for lost items.
What should I wear?
The recommended dress for Capital Food Fight is ‘cocktail chic,’ but we encourage people to be comfortable and ready for a moving, active event across two floors of The Anthem.
Does any of this money actually go to charity?
Of course! All proceeds from the event benefit DC Central Kitchen. Thanks to our tireless team and countless generous partners, Capital Food Fight is run in-house by DCCK staff and minimizes event expenses. With a four-star rating and perfect 100 score from Charity Navigator, you can be confident that DC Central Kitchen will put your support to work with creativity, transparency, and resourcefulness right here in DC as we tackle hunger and poverty head-on.
I can’t come that night. How can I help support DCCK?
You can still participate in our exciting silent auction, which will go live online in the days ahead of the event! We also encourage you to come lend a hand as a volunteer at our Center for Jobs and Justice in Southwest DC or support us directly at www.dccentralkitchen.org/donate.
